eBike Grant Fund
On June 2018 Transport Scotland announced an £800,000 grant fund to assist local authorities, public sector agencies, further and higher education institutions and community groups to adopt ebikes and ecargo bikes on a large scale as an alternative to car journeys. The Energy Saving Trust was appointed to administer the programme.
eBike for Laggan Community
The Laggan Forest Trust was awarded funding to acquire 3 ebikes (electric bikes). The main aims of the project are to:
- Encourage local residents to become more familiar with ebikes and cycling with a focus on journeys to and from the local shop, medical practice, social meetings and commuting.
- Encourage local residents to take on biking as a healthy leisure activity.
The ebikes are now ready to be used by the local community.
Residents can book and use the ebikes from the Laggan Wolftrax Centre and Laggan Stores Coffee Bothy and Gallery in the village. Please fill the form below. Terms and Conditions of usage will apply and will be in the booking form available at the above locations.
If you are thinking of buying an electric bike, this would be a great opportunity to try it out. We can be flexible in terms of how long an ebike can be borrowed for. Call us to discuss.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about the project and availability of ebikes, please get in touch with us at the Laggan Forest Trust office, or call us on 01528 544366, or email us at business@lagganforest.com.
